Vasco Diogo is a PhD candidate at SPINlab. His research interests include explaining land-use change processes, developing conceptual frameworks for land use modelling and building land-use simulation tools. His PhD dissertation is focused on explaining and simulating agricultural land-use patterns. Vasco has been involved in several projects in the Netherlands and abroad dealing with agricultural land systems, ranging topics such as assessing the economic potential for 2nd generation biofuel crops, assessing the economic impacts of more frequent extreme events, and evaluating the economic feasibility of adopting climate adaptation strategies. Vasco is currently a Scientific Officer at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, as part of the team developing the LUISA Territorial Modelling Platform (https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/luisa).
