The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (EC-JRC) invited a large delegation of SPINlab to contribute to their international workshop on integrated territorial policy assessment in Ispra, Italy. Together with, amongst others, researchers from the JRC units in Seville and Petten, scholars from the United Kingdom and representatives of national research institutes in Germany and the Netherlands we discussed recent advances in land-use modelling and innovative applications in the fields of: simulating urban dynamics, assessing climate change impacts and modelling the interactions between land use, transport and energy. The wonderful Italian dinners more than compensated for all the hard work during the long days.
Former SPINlab colleague Chris Jacobs-Crisioni chairs the first day of plenary meetings.
