Stel nu dat we bodem en water echt serieus nemen bij de inrichting van Nederland zoals de overheid beoogt? Voor Follow the Money heeft het SPINlab gekeken wat geschikte plekken voor woningbouw zijn. Een paar simpele uitgangspunten staan daarbij centraal: de circa 1 miljoen extra woningen die we denken nodig te hebben in 2030, beschikbare informatie over de beperkingen van de ondergrond (te nat, te slap, etc.) en ruimtelijk economische inzichten over aantrekkelijke plekken voor woningbouw. Waar kun je dan het beste bouwen?

Where should the Netherlands build its new houses?
By request of the Follow the Money platform, SPINlab made an inventory of potentially suitable locations for the circa 1 million houses that need to be build by 2030. This simulations show alternative scenarios: where should we build if we consider the limitations of our subsurface and exclude locations that are, for example, prone to flooding or subsidence? Does it help if we continue current levels of densification and thus limit building on green fields?
